A fun cake.
Ingredients
1 pk
white cake mix (2-layer size) 1 c
boiling water 1 pk
strawberry jell-o (3 oz.) 1⁄2 c
cold water 1 pk
cool whip (8 oz. thawed)Instructions
Prepare Cake batter and bake as directed on package for 13 x 9 -inch pan. Cool cake in pan 15 minutes. Pierce cake with large fork at 1/2-inch intervals. Add boiling water to gelatin mix in small bowl; stir 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water; pour over cake. Refrigerate 3 hours. Frost cake with cool whip. Refrigerate 1 hour.

Cupcake version
If you are making them as cupcakes, take the cupcakes out of the cupcake pans before you pour the Jell-o over them. Put them on a cooling rack over a cookie sheet and then pour. All excess liquid will just go onto the cookie sheet rather than making the cupcakes float in the pan and making the liners super soggy.
