Description

The Original Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, converted for use in Germany!  (Both measurements and ingredients have been changed to match what is found in Germany.)

Ingredients

250 ml
margarine
350 ml
Fein Zucker ([Granulated Sugar])
1 pk
Vanillezucker ([Vanilla Sugar])
2
Eier ([Eggs])
525 ml
Weizenmehl ([Bleached Wheat Flour])
1 t
Backpulver ([Baking Soda])
1 t
Salz ([Salt])
100 g
Milch-Kochschokolade ((Chopped) [Milk Baking Chocolate])

Instructions

Cream Margarine, Zucker, and Vanillezucker. Beat in Eier. Add Mehl, Backpulver, and Salz. Stir in Schokolade chunks. Scoop by rounded teaspoons. Bake at 150 degrees Celsius for 10-12 minutes.

I do all of my cooking in a toaster oven, so the temperature and cooking times may vary.

The original recipe used two types of sugars instead of just one.  The second was soft brown sugar, which is not easy to find in Germany.  However, these cookies tasted vaguely like sugar cookies with chocolate thrown in, so next time I am going to try to find something better to replace the brown sugar.
